Hello!
Wanted to send you some photos and updates. He’s been very good and has gotten very used to house living. He had a baby shampoo and a dawn soap bath to get rid of some fleas but he had a vet visit on Thursday that came back all clear and very healthy! He’s learning manners from the other dogs, and we’re working on more gentle mouthing because those puppy teeth are so so sharp. Crate training is going well too, and as long as there are no gaps in the cover, he sleeps quietly with only a bit of protest. He has been eating like a champ, he gets his chicken/broth/kibble twice a day, but then we also leave a bowl of kibble that he munches on when he feels snacky.
Thank you again for everything, he is a delight! We decided to name him Casterius. It’s a mashup of two names we really like, and we call him Cas for short. We’ll send you more updates in a few weeks. – 3/7/2021
Casterius is doing well, his colors are gorgeous and his eyes still have blue in them. He can sit, shake, and jumps into the walk-in shower on his own. He still isn’t too sure about the tub, but will dutifully play lifeguard. We’ve been working on “hand” this week as he likes to steal socks and we’d like to get them back without the tug of war game. He is also a bed hog, and even if there are other places to sleep, will squeeze himself on whatever the other dogs are sleeping on and take over. – 3/23/2021
Cas has had his last puppy shots this week and is growing fast. I feel like every picture I take makes him look bigger than the last! After about a week, we’ll start taking him out and work on socializing and leash manners. He’s also losing his puppy teeth finally, they were still quite sharp and Gus almost lost an earlobe. He’s eager to please, has a great temperament, and has very little fear even when it comes to traditionally scary things like vacuums and lawnmowers. He is a bit afraid of our smallest cat Morty (a tuxedo munchkin cat) but mostly because Morty tries to beat Cas up if he’s in his space.
Hello Wayne!
Casterius is doing well! He’s finally lost all his baby teeth and weighs 86lbs today. He knows a few commands like sit, down, spin, rollover if you can get his attention focused. We’re working on “leave it” and “hand.” His only issue right now is an obsession with eating the other dog’s poop – which I’m pretty sure is a phase all pups go through – but we’re giving them all stool eating deterrents and watching him like a hawk, so hopefully, this will pass soon. We’re going on lots of adventures to the stores and trails to get used to the leash, it’s like walking a small drunk horse sometimes.
